Welcome to the land of Spring and Summer, Fall and Winter.

Title: Snow Like Ashes Author: Sara Raasch Page Number: 432 Date of Publishing: October 14, 2014

I chose Snow Like Ashes for this book review because it is one of those books which is not widely known about but is really good once you read it. The basis of the plot is truly unique and I enjoyed reading it immensely.

Snow Like Ashes is the first of three books, the second is Ice Like Fire and the third is Frost Like Night. There is also a companion book for Ice Like Fire called Fire Like Vines.

Snow Like Ashes takes place in a land where there are four main societies, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Spring was at war with Winter until Spring defeated Winter, enslaving the inhabitants and taking away there magic. This story follows Meira, one of eight who escaped enslavement. She is tough, an orphan, and some know her destiny even though it remains hidden from her. She discovers the existence of a magical locket capable of restoring magic to the people of Winter and she is determined to find it. Read through successes and failures, loves and loses, as Meira makes her way through all the trials that face her.

I rate this book 4.5 out of 5, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard.
